SALE of a property:

• SELLERS have to ensure that an EPC has been commissioned before marketing of their property (unless an EPC is already available).

• An EPC commissioned means that a Domestic Energy Assessor has been instructed to prepare an EPC, and that this EPC has either been paid for or a clear undertaking has been given to pay for it.

• The person acting on behalf of the Seller (in the marketing of the property) should be satisfied that the above conditions have been met before commencing marketing.

• The Seller (and person acting on behalf of the seller in the marketing of the property) should make reasonable efforts to secure and EPC within 28 days.

• Fixed penalties are in force should the above not be complied with...
